ICS 200: Basic Incident Command Systems
for Initial Response Experiential Reflection As disasters increase in scale and intensity, so does the scale of disaster responses. ICS 200: Basic Incident Command Systems for Initial Response is an excellent continuation of the essential skills learned in ICS 100. With ICS 200, I have gained a deepened understanding of the Incident Command System, such as the different types of briefings and meetings and their purposes within the response, the flexibility that goes with the modular structure of the Incident Command System, the process for transferring of command briefings and procedures, as well as the processes included in delegation of and implementation of authority and the management of objectives. Through my mastery of the above objectives as proven through the successful completion of this course, I am now more fully prepared to successfully respond to incidents both small and large as a Disaster Program Specialist for the American Red Cross. |
